Saving Lives

Dr. Kerns travelled to alcoholism treatment centers around the country and identified, first hand, the most effective methods of treatment available.

After much planning, and with the help of a dedicated staff, volunteers and generous donors, he founded Serenity Lane in Eugene, Oregon. The self-sufficient treatment facility has since operated on the philosophy that chemical dependency is a treatable disease; and that addicts, with proper medical care and honest support can become well adjusted, contributing members of society.

Success Stories

Serenity Lane continues in the tradition of innovation charted by Dr. Kerns, with a proven track record.

  • 68,000 patients have gone through the doors at Serenity Lane
  • 95 percent of those who start the residential program complete it
  • In addition to the inpatient facility in Eugene, there are seven outpatient locations around the state
  • At any one time, Serenity Lane is treating 1,000 patients
  • Serenity Lane is the only center in the country that offers such a wide spectrum of treatment programs
